Reading : main idea and details, singular and plural nouns
Here’s What’s New in 3rd Grade…
Spelling: words with the consonant blends scr, str, spr
Writing : expanding details with more explanation
Cursive Handwriting: all letters have been taught; Spelling homework is to be done in cursive
Religion: Advent, how Jesus forgives & heals, original sin, Apostle’s Creed
Math: multiplication facts: 0-5
Social Studies: looking at maps in more detail: symbols, keys, compass rose, grids, etc.
Students recently went on the playground and followed a map to find gold coins.
Science: Salmon – parts of a Salmon (types of fins, etc.), life cycle, kinds of Salmon, migration
